In the wake of recent concerns about the fire resistance of doors with defects, BRE and the Door and Hardware Federation (DHF) have announced two new training dates for their fire door inspection training course.

The one day course is delivered in modular form and covers regulations, testing requirements, evidence performance, and issues specific to timber doors, steel doors and roller shutters.

It is aimed at anybody undertaking fire door inspections including Building Control Officers and Safety Inspectors, Insurers, Fire Risk Assessors, Fire Professionals and  Facilities Managers.

Head of Training at BRE Pauline Traetto said: ‘Correctly specifying, installing and maintaining passive fire protection is critical to the safety of building occupants. Inspection is vital to ensuring that the appropriate products are installed to the proper standard and requires a high level of expertise and competence – this course aims to bring all those involved with monitoring and managing safety in buildings up to speed with the latest developments.'
